Frequently Asked Questions

When are your office hours?

We typically operate during normal business hours and prefer to only accept client meetings during those times. Occasionally, weekend or evening availability may be an option, but as a general rule- we enjoy that time with our family. This is the best way to avoid burn out, allowing us to be our best for our clients.

Phone calls are available by appointment only.

General office hours are Monday – Friday from 8am – 3 pm.

Week nights and weekend meetings will be available on case by case basis.

Do I have to use vendors from your list?

No, not at all. But we sure do prefer it and here is why: they are tried and true… time and time again. We understand that your friend had a great experience with her florist and that your boss loved his cake. Anyone can rock it at least once. But ours nail it every.single.time. We want to avoid the risk and construct a team of vendors that will work well together. Ones that communicate clearly and efficiently with our planners and with each other. Our vendor list includes a variety of price points, styles and so on. There is something for everyone!

Why do we have to get on a call prior to receiving a proposal?

Our first intention is for connection. Each Wedding and Event we design begins with connecting with the client and establishing a working relationship to ensure we are the right fit for each other. From the very beginning connecting with you personally via phone allows us both the chance to answer questions and assess if our chemistry flows to build you the best day ever. We work with a select amount of Weddings and Events seasonally allowing for us to put 100% focus in each client.

How many weddings do you plan per season?

We cap our weddings at 20 per season in order to give us the proper time to dive into each client with our full attention. Our health is important in allowing us to create the perfect day. Instead of cramming in weddings one after another, we take the time to keep our family and our team healthy. You get the best from us when we are at our best.

I am pretty familiar with Isla, and due to my budget, I think I can plan this on my own and would like to hire you as a day of coordinator only- is this an option?

With the time it takes to properly style, design and organize a wedding, we respectfully have to deny any “same day coordinating” requests. Both our team and ourselves put everything we have into coordinating and executing the biggest day of your life. We believe proper planning is an incredibly important part of that process.

How do I get to Isla Mujeres?

After flying into the Cancun airport, you will take a private van to the ferry dock (we will help organize this). Once you board the ferry, it is a stunning (and quick!) 15 minute ride to the island. Once you get on the island, you can either hop in a taxi at the taxi stand outside, or simply walk to your hotel if it is nearby. There are no private transportation options on the island or car rentals. Taxis rule the transportation world here.

Should I use pesos or dollars?

While in Mexico, we ALWAYS recommend using Pesos. While USD is accepted most everywhere in Mexico, your dollar will go further when converted into Pesos. We are happy to help guide you through the process of exchanging or using the ATMs in the area.

Can I drink the water?

Will the tap water kill you? No. Do we recommend drinking it? Absolutely not. Purified and filtered water is available at any and all locations throughout your stay. Although the water out of the tap is completely safe to shower, rinse your mouth and brush your teeth with, it is another story to digest and drink it regularly. Rest assured that no restaurants/bars will serve you tap water (even if you see it being poured from a pitcher).

Besides the beach, what can we do while there?

This is the fun part. No matter the location, we can organize, plan and schedule the wedding Adventure of a lifetime. Memories are made from the moment you step off the plane. Everything from swimming with Whale Sharks, world renown diving and snorkeling on Isla Mujeres. Soaking up the history and architecture of Merida, the restaurant and nightlife scene of Playa Del Carmen or getting your photo shoot done on the endless beaches of Tulum, we got you covered. We take incredible pride in offering you the experience of a lifetime while creating moments that will be laughed and smiled over for years to come.

Is the island safe?

The majority of our weddings and events take place on this little slice of heaven we call home. The nights are filled with laughter from the streets, the downtown nightlife is vibrant and full of welcoming locals and the kids play at all hours of the night. Ben and I are raising our daughter on an island in Mexico with a community brimming with love and we wouldn’t change a thing. That doesn’t mean we aren’t blind to the less savory parts of a thriving tourist island in the Caribbean. Trouble can be found in all corners of the globe. Understanding and respecting that we are all visitors in Mexico. Interacting with locals and owners of business should be done with respect and kindness, you have nothing to fear. Do we think Isla Mujeres is safe? Absolutely.

What if we forget something at home?

Need a new pair of swim shorts? Forget your headphones? Charger for your laptop? We got you covered.

With a plethora of options, there isn’t much we can’t get our hands on. Cancun has options like Sam’s Club, Costco, Wal-Mart and more. Major labels for clothing and electronics are available if needed. Let us know what you need and we will arrange to fill those needs.
